There are a lot of well known methods that can be used to expose your online business to the public. There are tons of articles on the internet that can describe how to write better articles and press releases. Do you wear T-shirts? If so, slap a logo of your business on the shirt and wear it outside. Go for a walk, get a soda or some coffee and explore your town – all while wearing the t-shirt. Doing this form of "advertising" will prompt people to walk up to you and ask you what you are doing because of the T-shirt. While you’re out, you can also have people nonchalantly take a pic with their phone and go to your website either on their smart phone or on their computer later on in the day. When you do this type of marketing, it allows you to relax a little, break up your day and get out of the house, something that most Internet marketers seldom do. When you do this, you proverbially kill two birds with one stone. Go to various business functions and make a point to make your URL visible. If you are attending a formal outing, then make sure that your URL is still in a visible place. For events that are laid back, then a tee or hat will be fine. Better yet, put your site on a bag that you can carry with you. Put other advertising items in the bag such as pens and calendars. Don’t just stand in the corner. These events will be far better for you if you actually talk to people.

Leaving pens in strategic locations with your logo can bring you extra traffic. People are always losing pens and picking up new free ones. A very good idea is to have your pens printed with your logo and URL on the barrel. Then, go downtown and drop them off at locations like grocery stores or banks so people can pick them up. It is possible to get in trouble by doing this, but you should seriously consider going to a location like a bank and placing your pens in the receptacles that have pens already in them for the patrons of that establishment.
